In this moment Darcy let’s his feelings slip. It was obvious how calculated and thought out Darcy had planned this moment. He had structured it to be as civil as possible, lacking the emotions that Lizzie had just so publicly denounced. But as Lizzie sits there blathering about calling him a “newsy”, you can see that part of Darcy that is so madly in love with her fighting its way out. Not only in her rather adorableness in her attempt to explain her previous immature statement, but along with the urge to reassure her that everything was okay, and to disregard his emotions. They aren’t important to him. But Lizzie’s are.
